Asset Data Collection

Many Municipalities start their Asset Management journey by having students collect their culvert information. However after reviewing the data collected many find the data unusable or incomplete. This can be due to not being able to see culverts due to tall grass or not collecting the appropriate information. Not all signs are the same! Collecting the appropriate information about a sign is crucial when in the field. This information could include post type, Sign Type, Sign material, Location, direction. We understand that Municipalities may have hundreds of signs and keeping track of all of them can seem overwhelming! Municipalities have many water and sewer assets located through out their communities and rural areas. Utility staff may need to locate assets such as curb stops, water shut off valves, water lines, sewer lines and man holes. unfortunately for utility staff many of these assets are located under ground and not easily located by eye making it very difficult to address issues in a timely manner.
